Writing Program Resources

Breadcrumb

The Writing Center welcomes students from any major, at any skill level, with any type of writing, at any stage.

The mission of the Writing Center is to provide a collaborative, supportive, and judgment-free space for all student writers. We believe that Every Writer Needs a Reader and that we all do better when No One Writes Alone.

We welcome students at any point in the writing process, from brainstorming ideas to polishing a final draft. We work with students on a range of projects—from class assignments and professional documents to personal statements, presentations, and posters.

Our Writing Consultants are a dedicated group of trained peers from different disciplines who conduct one-on-one and group sessions guided by the writer’s goals. Students can visit us during our scheduled hours in the Library Collaboratory, posted each semester on Moodle.

In addition to our drop-in hours, the Writing Center offers topic-based workshops and appointments by request, responds to faculty referrals, and provides course-specific resources as needed.

Email us at writingcenter@whittier.edu with any questions, or contact Amalia Jiva, the Writing Program Director.
