The Wardman Library at Whittier Library supplies loans and photocopies of materials to libraries through our Interlibrary Loan service. Individuals not affiliated with Whittier College should contact the academic library with which they are affiliated or their nearest public library to make a request. Libraries can request materials via OCLC (code: CWC).
Book Lending Policies
Loan period: 4 weeks, with 1 renewal of 4 weeks permitted Multi-volume sets: max 3 volumes per request All items subject to recall.
The following items are non-circulating and not available for lending: microforms, newspapers, periodicals, special collections, visual materials, reference materials.
Photocopy Services for Periodicals and Non-Circulating Materials
Photocopies are provided for items up to 30 scanned pages in length within the restrictions and guidelines of copyright law. Photocopy requests for periodicals, government documents, book chapters and reference materials will generally be fulfilled unless the item is in poor condition. Photocopies will be sent as PDF files via email or Article Exchange.
Special Collections Materials
Lending requests for Special Collections materials will be cancelled. For photocopying options, please contact our Reference Librarian.
Visual Materials and Sound Recordings
We do not lend or copy visual materials (e.g. DVDs) or sound recordings (e.g. LPs).
Fees
We lend materials and provide photocopies at no cost to libraries within the United States.
Lost Materials Fee: Cost to replace item
Shipping
Loan materials will be shipped via library mail. Institutions that wish to receive items sooner should provide us with their UPS or FedEx account number.
