Anh Tran (she/her/hers) is a Biology major, who is involved in many clubs and organizations across campus; she is the president of the Asian Student Association. When Anh is not in class, you can find her volunteering at the cardiac care center of PIH Hospital and the Orange County Eye Project. She also works as an Art Therapy Mentor for the CEC on campus. Anh's career goal, to become a Physician’s Assistant, aligns with what she wishes to bring to our Whittier Poets as a PHE: to be able to deliver quality, affordable care for the mental and physical health of underrepresented communities. In her free time, she enjoys talking to family, watching movies, and crocheting.
Chihiro Fukui (she/her/hers) is a Pre-med/ Biology major, founder of medstudentsunite and a medtok influencer. She fully utilized her pandemic time to earn a variety of certificates, awards, and licenses in the healthcare field, including graduating with an exemplary scholar award in the Cardiac Interventional Telemetry Unit of the COPE health scholar’s program and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) She also gained valuable shadowing experience in three surgical clinics in Japan, to support her career goal of becoming a cardiovascular surgeon.
Being a Scott PHE allows her to help students overcome obstacles (whether mental, financial, or time management) and allows her to share her passions for building healthy habits and a great school-life balance. In her free time, she can be found creating content for pre-health majors to elevate their study habits while also providing resources to help them target their resume for health industry opportunities.
Jacob Hayes (he/him/his) is a senior History major who is also a member of the Poet’s football team. Jacob’s career goals include becoming a high school History teacher and football coach. As a PHE, he is gaining valuable experience he plans to use in the future by helping to unify his community and spread a sense of well-being across his future campus. His main priority as a Scott PHE is to bring the Poet community closer together and make each student feel welcome and safe on our beautiful campus. He works to integrate physical and mental health for students to make campus life fun and healthy!
Kiara Piaggio (she/her/hers) is a Pre-med/Biology major and French minor. As Vice-President of the Global Poets Club, she is working towards the inclusion of international students and promoting diversity on campus. She is preparing for her career by volunteering at PIH and at a local therapeutic horseback riding program. As a Scott PHE, Kiara hopes to create events where all students can feel safe and included while encouraging overall health and wellness. As an aspiring medical professional, Kiara is dedicated to promoting healthcare accessibility and equity within our community. In her free time, she likes reading, going out, and hiking with friends.
Sion Chae (he/him/his) is a Kinesiology major. He is passionate about mental health, physical wellness, and emotional awareness. As a first-time PHE, he hopes he will not only share but also learn more about these interests. He aspires to a career as a strength and conditioning coach and views being a PHE as a great opportunity to gain experience toward pursuing this goal while supporting his fellow Poets. In his free time, Sion likes watching K-dramas, going to karaoke with friends, and working out at the gym.
Tiffany Liew (she/her/hers) is the Scott Peer Health Educator Graduate Assistant. She is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on Adult Mental Health and Wellness. Tiffany plans to become a Clinical/Medical Social Worker and sees the PHE position as an opportunity to further her education in mental health and wellness. Her goals are to spread mental health and wellness to the Whittier College Community as well as make the PHE program known to students as a safe space to talk and a place to get great resources.
