News Release Guidelines

Breadcrumb

The College’s Office of Marketing & Communications staff plans, researches, writes, and distributes messages that highlight interesting and newsworthy College information, people, and events.

Topics in academic news, student news, college-wide event promotion, and news interesting for student recruitment and retention will take priority.

To ensure that materials released to the media are accurate, timely, and consistent in style and quality, all information released to the media must be coordinated and released through the Office of Marketing & Communications.

The staff will determine the most appropriate distribution method for the information: internal, local, regional, or national. Releases also are posted on the news page or the news releases page.

You can also email story tips to communications@whittier.edu. Once the request is received, a member of the Communications staff will follow up with you. For more information about submitting news for publication, contact communications@whittier.edu.
