Bio
Dr. Stacey Lawson is the Interim Program Director for the Department of Social Work. She has her Doctorate in Social Work from California Baptist University, her Master's in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Dr. Lawson’s research addresses mental health prevention and treatment in higher education, which includes addressing mental health stigmas and disparities among minority populations, and utilizing evidence-based interventions in higher education. Her doctoral research is focused on the advocacy and education of mental health in this area of higher education.
Currently, Dr. Lawson teaches social work courses focusing on human behavior, working with communities and organizations, social welfare policy and social work practicum and seminar courses. Lawson's service to the college also extends to being the advisor for the National Honor's Society Phi Alpha, the Social Work Council and various joint community projects throughout the Los Angeles area.
