The shiny new academic hub is a true reflection of what a Whittier College education is all about: transformation, collaboration, student-faculty partnerships, academic excellence, and innovation.
The Science & Learning Center houses the departments of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, environmental sciences, kinesiology and nutrition science, and psychological sciences but serves students and professors from across most disciplines. The building's flexible classrooms, large open lounge areas, group study spaces, and indoor/outdoor classrooms on the rooftop make it the College's primary academic building.
Whittier's emphasis on community is reflected in one the building's most impressive features: a two-story mosaic composed of three-by-three inch photos featuring members of the College community. Many of these images were submitted by faculty, students, and alumni.
