Whittier operates local chapters of national honorary academic and leadership societies.
Members of these organizations are selected based on criteria such as grade point average, and, in general, exhibit a keen dedication to scholarship, service, and leadership.
Psi Chi
Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology for Psychology majors or minors. Its mission is to encourage and stimulate work by individual members within the field of psychology, as well as to advance the science of psychology.
The Whittier Chapter of Psi Chi recently celebrated its 35th Anniversary, and has received several Model Chapter Awards. Students of academic distinction in their psychology classes are invited to join Psi Chi, which focuses on advancing the science of psychology and community service.
