Use this checklist to keep track of Commencement-related tasks.
Apply for Graduation
The first step to completing your degree is applying for Graduation. To do so, log on to your MyWhittier.
- Click on the For Students tab on the left side of your screen.
- Scroll down to Self-Service Banner and select Student Records
- In the expanded menu, select Apply to Graduate
- Curriculum Term Selection: Select the current term and click Submit.
- Curriculum Selection: Choose the curriculum you have completed and click Continue.
- Graduation Date Selection: Select your Graduation Date from the pulldown menu and click Continue.
- Graduation Ceremony Selection: Indicate your plans to attend the Commencement Ceremony and click Continue
- Update or modify your diploma name
- Diploma Name Selection: enter your name as you prefer it to be printed on your diploma
- Update or modify the mailing address where you wish to receive your diploma
- Graduation Application Summary: Review your information and click Submit.
Review Degree Works
You are encouraged to review your Degree Works Worksheet (via myWhittier) often and with your advisor to confirm your progress towards graduation. Requirements that have not been satisfied will be indicated in red. Questions should be addressed to your advisor and the Registrar’s Office at registrar@whittier.edu.
Resolve Outstanding Financial Holds and Obligations
Your tuition bill must be paid in full to the Business Office.
Complete the Necessary Participation Forms
Order Your Cap and Gown
Students can order regalia, sashes, announcements, class rings, etc. through the Campus Bookstore.
