Study Exercise Science at Whittier College

Breadcrumb

With dedicated labs, classrooms, expert faculty, and graduates with successful careers, Whittier College is home to one of the premier Kinesiology programs in California.

Kinesiology students at Whittier begin working towards their unique career goals from day one by taking courses in physical therapy, nutrition counseling, coaching, athletic training, and more.

Students also enjoy a personalized academic experience with small classes, close professor interaction, and easy access to campus resources and facilities, including the Yao Yuan Sze Foundation Movement Laboratory.

Whittier’s ideal Southern California location offers Kinesiology majors countless off-campus learning and professional growth opportunities. Through their established network, professors help kinesiology majors connect to a wide array of internships and volunteer opportunities iincluding the LA Sparks, the Special Olympics, and the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. Learning extends outside the classroom through courses like Great Sports Shrines of L.A., which takes students on a tour of local pro sports venues, including the L.A. Memorial Coliseum and the Dignity Health Sports Park, to interact with team executives---including Whittier College alumni.

Whittier offers a vibrant campus life with plenty of clubs and organizations to get involved with. Students can also live on campus and build their own unique community in one of our seven residence halls. And about one-third of our students compete in our NCAA Division III Athletics Program which fields 22 teams including men’s & women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s & women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, football, men’s & women’s water polo, and more.
