Rodi-Shryock was an enthusiastic alumna and proud Athenian. She enjoyed staying connected to her Whittier classmates and had planned to join them for their 55th class reunion dinner during Homecoming.
At Whittier she studied sociology and after graduation spent much of her career in education. She recently retired from her post as director of admissions for the Francis W. Parker School, a private college preparatory and independent school in San Diego.
As part of her commitment to education, Rodi-Shryock established an endowed scholarship fund at Whittier College for female science students. Overall, she was steadfast and generous in time and treasure, both in her local community and to the College. Rodi-Shryock served on the Poet Council from 2016 to 2018 before joining the Board of Trustees in 2018.
She will truly be missed by the Poet community. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 30 at St. Michael and All Angels Church, 3233 Pacific View Dr., Corona del Mar, CA 92625. A reception will follow at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club 720 West Bay Ave, Balboa, CA 92661.
