Local entrepreneur and chef Ricardo Diaz '93 was recently featured in Vista LA—a weekly news magazine program that airs on ABC-7. The show focused on the growth of a craft beer culture in Los Angeles, with a special look at Latino-owned breweries and bars.
In particular, the segment shined a light on the growing trend in the City of Whittier. Diaz, who is set to open the Whittier Brewing Company in the heart of Uptown Whittier, explained why it’s important to him to contribute to the craft beer movement.
“I love food and I love great beer, and I want to participate in that,” he said. “I am picking food that goes well with beer, but I’m also picking food that the city of Whittier doesn’t have yet, [such as] ramen and dumplings, and maybe some Neapolitan, artisan-style pizza.”
