OnStage, a popular theatre blog, has ranked Whittier College’s theatre program as one of “The Top 10 Most Underrated College Theatre Programs” in the western region. Whittier’s program ranked at number seven and was praised for its strong curriculum that reflects the diverse interests and cultural backgrounds of Southern California as well as having one of the finest theatre spaces in the state. The blog calls the program a “gem” and describes the Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts “arguably the finest theatre spaces in the state.”
The list was a result of months of researching, compiling, and comparing college theatre programs across the country. OnStage wanted to highlight programs which rarely get attention.
