Whittier College has been named as one of the best schools for Latinos by Latino Leaders magazine. The publication compiled a list of the top 50 colleges and universities across the country to serve Latinos. The criterion takes into account the percentage of Latino faculty, the percentage of students who apply and receive financial aid, academic resources for students of color to acclimate to college life, and outreach efforts by schools to add to their overall diversity. Whittier excels in all of this, most notably having 44 percent of students and 28 percent of faculty coming from Hispanic/Latino backgrounds.
