Whittier College's Women's Water Polo team earned the 2016 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) title on April 24 defeating University of La Verne 17-12.
The Poets, the reigning 2015 SCIAC Champions, will enter into the NCAA Division I National Championships and play against an opponent who is yet to be determined.
The conference championship marks the second in program history -and back-to-back titles- for the Poets as they moved to 26-7, 11-0 SCIAC extending their winning streak to 12 games.
