Co-founder and chairman emeritus of DHL International Po Chung understands the benefits of a liberal arts education. Hong Kong’s dramatic shift in just a few decades from a manufacturing to a service-based economy has sparked and is driving the interest into a new educational archetype modeled after the liberal arts.

Chung spent some of his undergraduate career at Whittier College where he studied zoology and later started DHL International Limited, the Hong Kong-based company that together with DHL Airways Inc. of California, which owns and operates the U.S. territories, operates the DHL Worldwide Network.

Now Chung –along with other backers – wants to reform educational curriculum in Hong Kong to move toward an education that promotes greater intellectual curiosity and creative thinking.
