Campus Safety Alert

Breadcrumb

February 14, 2016

At around 10 p.m. on Sunday, a suspicious individual was reported near Harris Hall. The individual matched the description of a suspect who was possibly armed and reported off-campus, near Friends and Washington Avenues. Out of an abundance of caution, Campus Safety called the Whittier Police Department to campus.

During Whittier PD's search, Campus Safety made the decision to lock down the campus including all residence halls and the library. After an exhaustive helicopter and ground search, Whittier PD determined that there was no threat to the campus community and gave an all clear to resume normal activities.

As usual, we ask that you remain vigilant and aware of your surroundings. Remember: if you see something, say something.
