Gangloff Named Academic All-American

Whittier College track and field athlete Shuree Gangloff ’09 was named an Academic All-American by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for her performance on the field and in the classroom during the 2007-08 academic year. In May, Gangloff earned a spot in the College's President's Club for her superior academic record, and last spring, she represented Whittier College at the NCAA Championships.

Gangloff won a SCIAC Championship in the discus and finished fourth in both the hammer and the shot put last season.  At the NCAA Championships, she finished 17th in the nation in the discus with a throw of 135' 11" while battling back problems.

Gangloff was a member of the 2007-08 President's Club at Whittier College as a student-athlete with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.  She was the only SCIAC Track & Field athlete to earn Academic All-American honors.
