Today we are here representing the Senior Class from Whittier College, to deliver a special message to the Class of 2009 here at Oxy. While we maybe rivals, we actually have a lot in common. Both of our schools were founded in 1887, both campuses offer a liberal arts education and both colleges have a diverse student body that is prepared to lead. And, we have one more thing in common. It is tradition, at both of our schools, for the Senior Class to present a gift to our college that celebrates our undergraduate years. The Senior Class Gift is our chance to give back and ensure future generations of Poets and Tigers have a chance to become whatever they aspire to be, even president of the united states!
We are here today to issue a challenge to the Oxy Senior Class. It is through this challenge that we plan to show the difference in our schools. We are confident our Poet Pride will lead to more seniors at Whittier contributing to our Senior Class Gift than Occidental seniors contributing to your effort. The rules are simple, the college with the highest percentage of seniors making a donation to their own college WINS.
