Throughout 10 stops in cities like San Diego, Colorado Springs and Honolulu, alumni have learned what the future holds for the College while reminiscing about the past.
Jessica (Robledo) Will ’05 hosted the Orange County event at her home in Yorba Linda. A teacher at East Whittier City School District who helped establish the Palmer Alumnae Endowed Scholarship, Will said hosting the tour stop was a good way to give back to the College.
“It was a wonderful experience that brought people together,” Will said. “It was also really encouraging and inspiring to be able to see President Kristine Dillon ’73 and hear about what she has been doing.”
In addition to remarks from Dillon, attendees heard from Head Football Coach Cory White MA '06. For Roger Young ’72 M’84 P’93, the preview of the relaunched football team was invigorating.
“My dad and I spent every Saturday during the college season watching football when I was growing up,” Young said. “It’s just a part of who I am, and I’m thrilled for it to be coming back.”
Meanwhile, the best part for Denise Wong ’13 was hearing AWSC Student Body President Isabelle Brookshire ‘26 share what the College means to them.
“I was really happy to see somebody who is currently attending Whittier talk about having such a positive experience,” Wong said.
