Tuition, Fees, Room and Board Rates for the 2025-26 Academic Year

February 28, 2025

Dear Whittier College community,

At Whittier College, we are committed to providing an education that is accessible to all of our students. In line with our ongoing commitment to access and affordability, and our efforts to assist students and their families, the College modestly increased tuition and fees by 2.99% for the current 2024-25 academic year. This increase was among the lowest of private colleges in California.

During its February meeting, the Whittier College Board of Trustees reviewed financial projections and approved an increase of 2.99% in tuition and fees, as well as room and board for the 2025-26 academic year. For the coming academic year, tuition and fees for continuing students will be $52,677. Standard annual room and board charges will be $16,400.

The 2.99% increase enables us to address rising operational costs, including technology enhancements, campus maintenance, and student support services. Tuition and fees paid by students, as well as gifts from generous donors and earnings from our endowment, constitute the financial ecosystem of Whittier.

Please know that the College understands the impact of tuition increases on students and families. Like last year, Whittier College will provide additional aid to those with the greatest financial need, offsetting much of the increase. The College will also continue to offer funds for campus jobs, including positions for students who do not qualify for Federal Work-Study.

Students, please check your MyWhittier portal in late spring to see your updated financial aid awards.

If you have any questions or concerns about your financial aid award, please reach out to Whittier’s Financial Aid Office at fao@whittier.edu or 562.907.4285. We are committed to being as responsive as possible to your questions and concerns.

When students choose to attend Whittier College, they are making an investment in their future. I deeply appreciate the trust you place in us to provide an outstanding educational experience and to secure Whittier's future for generations of Poets to come.

Sincerely,

Kristine E. Dillon ’73, Ph.D.
