America’s favorite pastime is naturally ripe for cultural analysis. And that’s where Whittier College’s Institute for Baseball Studies comes into play.
The Institute for Baseball Studies is home to 500 artifacts from Negro Leagues players, Los Angeles Dodgers memorabilia, and over 3,000 books related to the sport. ABC7 journalist Phillip Palmer recently profiled the institute's mission and how it brings research to life.
“Jackie Robinson preceded Brown v. Board of Education by half a decade," Joe Price, the institute's director, said in the interview.
