Local Fixture coffee

My favorite place in Uptown Whittier is Local Fixture Coffee Bar on Bright Avenue.

The main reason I go to this cafe compared to others in Uptown is because they are dog friendly. Almost every time I have stopped here, there is always a dog hanging out, which I absolutely love. Since I own a dog myself, I enjoy any place that allows for my best bud to tag along. Plus, I can get my daily fix of coffee.

Before the pandemic started, I used to go here frequently for my morning dose of coffee and to get some work done. There is indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. You can choose to sit inside at a large wooden table, near all of the cute merchandise in store, or you can sit outside on their patio, where they have a beautiful succulent wall. I usually like to sit outside because the weather is always good for it. The location is not far from campus, making it convenient to walk there between classes.

I usually get an iced coffee, but since I started coming here, I’ve had the chance to order a couple of new drinks from their menu like a matcha latte or an iced mocha. There are plenty more items I want to try from their menu like different teas, lattes, and cold brews.

The atmosphere here is also great. The employees are friendly and helpful. They also sell a wide variety of other merchandise other than coffee: they have a baby section, gifts for your pets, candles, and even plants. There are a lot of gift ideas in this shop.

Although there are many coffee chains in the area, I like to come here to support a small business. When this pandemic is over and we are allowed to continue indoor seating, I will definitely be back at Local Fixtures Coffee Bar with my pup to hang out and drink a coffee.
