Associate Professor of English Andrea Rehn or @profrehn as she is known in the "twitterverse" is extremely active in social media and is heavily involved in the digital liberal arts and online learning. In fact, she will be co-teaching this fall the class "Just Hacking" with Assistant Professor of Mathematics Bill Kronholm, where they will examine hacking as the art of creative problem solving.
Rehn recently attended the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Emerging Technologies for Online Learning conference (#et4online) and was part of an experiment known as #et4buddy. Using personal mobile technology and free video conference tools (mainly Google Hangouts on Air) conference attendees interviewed keynote speakers and other presenters so other people could watch, specifically those who did not attend the conference. Not only that, but those who joined the conversation virtually, were able to interview the speakers and presenters.
