Here are a few events to flex your Poet pride. From musicals to sports, there is something for everyone. As always, more happenings can be found on Engage.
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., March 30th
Created to highlight Whittier’s athletic teams, Sports Crawl urges participants to visit the college’s various sports complexes to watch students play softball, baseball, men's tennis, women's water polo and women’s lacrosse. Each attendee gets a shirt to be signed by the athletes, and whoever receives the most signatures wins a prize.
Various times, April 4-7
Who can’t relate to chasing their dreams? Based on the hit film featuring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio, watch this musical inspired by an incredibly entertaining story at Robinson Theatre.
Ticket prices are $15 for general admission, $10 for alumni, and $5 for students. Whittier College students can see the opening night performance for free. Tickets can be purchased on Purplepass or at the box office, which opens 30 minutes before each performance.
1:30 p.m. April 6 and 10 a.m. April 12
Admitted students and families are invited to learn more about Whittier while meeting the Poet community. This is also a great time to visit with the Office of Financial Aid to discuss options and receive a discount on enrollment deposits.
2-6 p.m. on the Upper Quad and 7-10 p.m. at Villalobos Hall, April 12
Whitfest — the College’s biggest event of the spring — involves carnival games, food trucks, a petting zoo, and much more. Follow up the day with an evening of ’70s-themed music and dancing for Poet Prom.
11: a.m. to 3 p.m. April 30
Head to the North Lawn and join the Wellness Coalition for a relaxing day of food, games, and crafts to clear your head before finals. Students can enjoy crepes, smoothies, and other treats along with getting a massage, playing cornhole, making bracelets, and more.
