Two-time Grammy award winning artist, T-Pain, has been announced as the headliner for Whittfest 2017, the College’s first-ever large-scale concert event. The concert will take place on Friday, April 7 and is only open to the Whittier College community (students, alumni, faculty, and staff). Tickets are on sale now at the Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts Box Office, or online at www.shannoncenter.org. Student tickets are $15 each. Staff and faculty tickets are $20 and guest tickets are $25.
“A lot of other schools have concerts similar to this, and we wanted to make it happen here [at Whittier},” Whittfest Concert Committee member Keelin Bettridge ’19 told the QC.
T-Pain has more than 50 chart-topping singles, including “Low” with Flo Rida, which has gone platinum six times. In the fall of 2013, he returned with one of his biggest hits to date, the DJ Mustard-produced single "Up Down (We Do This All Day)" featuring B.o.B. After returning to his familiar spot in the top ten of the charts for 28 straight weeks, T-Pain continued to soar with his club smash "Drankin' Patna" in 2014.
WhittFest 2017 is made possible by collaboration and support from ASWC Senate, Media Council, K-Chella, Program Board, the Inter-Club Council, Social Justice Coalition, and the Division of Student Life.
