As the spring semester begins, the Counseling Center partnered with Residence Life and brought therapy dogs to meet with students to help them deal with stress before it even starts. Originally created by the Wellness Coalition, the dog therapy program is designed to provide a space for students to connect with the animals. The four-legged friends are provided by the Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. organization and will visit the campus on a monthly basis.
“The students responded really well and it’s a good de-stressor for them, so we’re excited about be able to bring [the program] more often than just at our bi-annual event,” said Daniel Ruiz, program assistant at the Counseling Center.
