Given the political, social, and religious conflicts affecting our world, Whittier College students have a myriad of questions about topics such as the Syrian Refugee Crisis, the terrorist attacks in Paris and Beirut, Islamophobia, and terrorist groups such as ISIS/Daesh.
On December 7, a group of faculty and staff from various disciplines and areas of expertise organized a teach-in where they did answered questions and sparked discussion around these relevant global issues.
Members of the panel included: Associate Professor of Religious Studies Jason Carbine, Assistant Professor of Anthropology Tessa Farmer, Visiting Assistant Professor of Religious Studies Irfana Hashmi, Interim Assistant Director of the Cultural Center Andrianna Martinez, Professor of Political Science Mike McBride and Deborah Norden, and Associate Professor of Physics Serkan Zorba.
