Once again, Whittier College has been named one of the top national liberal arts colleges by U.S. News and World Report and the Washington Monthly, among others, in the annual college rankings roundtable.
Of note, the U.S. News' 2015 Best Colleges guidebook gave Whittier kudos for its campus diversity. The College is one of three California institutions on the top 10 list of ethnically diverse national liberal arts colleges. Overall, Whittier has the highest Latino population (40%) among any of the schools listed.
The well-known guidebook is designed to offer "comprehensive advice for high school students and their families on researching all the options and choosing the best colleges for them."

Whittier College was also named among the top 100 liberal arts schools in the nation in Washington Monthly's 2014 College Guide. Schools on this list are rated based on their contribution to social good in three broad categories: social mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and Ph.D.s), and service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).
