This year, Whittier College has been ranked in the top 15% of colleges and universities for diversity and inclusion by The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education (WSJ/THE) college rankings.
Whittier’s standing was based on student and faculty diversity, as well as student inclusion. Today, students of color constitute 70 percent Whittier’s undergraduate student body and the College is recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a Minority Serving Institution.
The WSJ/THE college rankings report looked at a total of 801 U.S. colleges and universities. Results are based on data collected from more than 170,000 college student surveys and information from public datasets. The rankings capture four key areas of performance—the resources available to support education, student engagement, student success and outcomes, and the diversity and inclusiveness of the institution’s environment.
