Amer Rashid is the out-going ASWC president and former vice-president. A political science and global cultural studies double major, Rashid received a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship where he completed research on Muslim American national identity development. Accompanying his studies, he also served as a resident advisor in the first-year residence hall, a student ambassador for the office of admission, a student tech liaison at the DigLibArts center, president and founder of Students for Justice in Palestine, founder and publisher of the Poet Press, and an active member of the William Penn Society. Looking ahead after graduation, Rashid hopes to launch a career in politics.
