Whittier College’s Art and Visual Studies Department announced its new digital art and design track, which will cater to students interested in visual media, animation, web design, and visual marketing. As art is becoming increasingly digitalized, this track accommodates to that shift and offers students a chance to grow their art skills on a digital platform.
“The main reason we created this track is to meet student demands,” said Associate Professor of Art Daniel Jauregui. “They were really asking us for these types of courses and, given the increasingly visual nature of our culture, we wanted to provide students with a more specific course of study that would allow them to work in the visual creative fields.”
The department hosted an open house where students interested in the new track were able to gain more information and ask questions. The new courses will be available beginning Fall 2017.
