The Fletcher Jones Foundation has awarded Whittier College a grant for $147,000, over the course of three years, to establish the Fletcher Jones Foundation Undergraduate Fellows Program in Health and Science. The funding will support 20 fellowships enabling students to engage in health-related internships and science research. The Fletcher Jones Foundation Fellowship program is part of the recently launched Center for Science, Health, and Policy at Whittier College.
"The Fletcher Jones grant recognizes the extraordinary student body that is present at Whittier and the impressive student-faculty research that is being done at the undergraduate level," said President Sharon Herzberger. "Through this new fellowship program, the Center for Science, Health, and Policy will receive the backing needed to train diverse leaders who will help address and solve the multitude of health issues facing our nation and world."
