With nearly a decade of legislative experience under his belt, Strauss is currently a policy advisor for a Seattle City Council member. His past government positions include legislative aide and policy advisor at the City of Seattle, the Washington State Legislature, the Oregon State Legislature, and the Alliance for Gun Responsibility. Through his various leadership roles, Strauss has funded numerous transportation projects, developed green building codes, improved Seattle’s public parks, and worked to make the citizens of Seattle more vocal and visible in public policymaking.
Born and raised in Ballard, Seattle, Strauss hopes to endow the people of his hometown with more influence in local politics. If he is elected, Strauss plans to address issues including housing and homelessness, accessible and environmentally friendly transportation, expanding small businesses, affordable childcare, and early education.
Strauss studied political science at Whittier College, and earned his master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Oregon.
