Nicknamed "Mr. Opportunity," Alumnus Carlos Salazar '10 was featured in a recent issue of Phoenix Focus magazine and recognized for his work as CEO and Founder of "Forward Thinking," a new nonprofit organization that offers young individuals academic support and the opportunity to achieve success. Carlos Salazar's feature cover story shares his academic journey and his prospects for his new innovative program.
A Ph.D. student and finance manager for AT&T Mobility, Salazar hopes to serve as a military officer before applying for medical school. Salazar recognizes the importance of seizing every opportunity one is given and hopes to open opportunities to students like him. Describing his inspiration for "Forward Thinking, Salazar says,"I want to help someone else have that same moment or same opportunity [I did], someone who knows my story and could use the help, but they just don’t know it’s there.”
