Alumna and Portland resident Kara Minnehan ’07 is the director and producer of an experimental narrative documentary film called Bike Lovethat premiered this weekend in Portland, OR.
On December 1, 2011 Minnehan gave up her car for the purpose of trying out new modes of transportation and experiencing the city’s bike culture firsthand. Bike Love chronicles her year-long journey of living without a car. The film also includes portraits of other female cyclists – "fashion, feminism, community-building, sustainability, and comedy are brought to life within the foundations of Portland’s cyclist community."
Fellow Poets from Portland and other parts of the country, including New York and Los Angeles, joined Minneham for the big premiere.
