Whittier College Ranks #11 for Campus Ethnic Diversity in U.S. News and World Report’s 2017 “America’s Best Colleges”

Whittier College campus, US NewsWhittier College continues to rank among the most diverse liberal arts colleges according to the 2017 U.S. News and World Report released today. With 43 percent of its students hailing from traditionally under-represented groups, Whittier College ranks #11 in the nation for campus ethnic diversity.

As a national liberal arts college, Whittier stands among the country’s colleges emphasizing undergraduate education and awarding at least half of their degrees in the arts and sciences. 

Whittier College was also named among the top 100 liberal arts schools in the nation in this year’s Washington Monthly College Guide. Schools on this list are rated based on their contribution to social good in three broad categories: social mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and Ph.D.s), and service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).

The Princeton Review also featured Whittier as one of the best 381 colleges and universities in the 2017 edition of the flagship college guide.
