Alumnus Delpaneaux Wills ‘98 loves three things in life: football, medicine, and acting. But acting wasn't always part of the picture. Wills, who was raised in Sierra Leone and will appear in a forthcoming film “RYDE,” discovered his acting chops during his time at Whittier.
Wills had his eyes set toward a career in medicine and majored in biology while playing as the wide receiver for Whittier’s football program -- where he played with fellow actor Geoff Stults. But, it wasn’t until his days at Whittier where he discovered his love for acting. Wills attended one of his friend’s theater performances and he was hooked. He auditioned for some plays, but didn’t get a part from the get-go. This didn't discourage him so he decided to volunteer to help build stages and work the concession stand, so he could watch the College plays for free. By watching plays and learning, he started to do regional theater around Los Angeles. His hard work paid off and he got the chance to do Shakespeare at Whittier. Since 2009 he's added several television and film credits to his name.
