While you're getting a college education, don't miss out on the perks of student discounts.

A lot of companies, from retail to fast food, offer a 10-20% discount on your purchase.

My college town, Whittier—being the great city that it is—provides student discount services all throughout the city and the locations are easily accessible. Uptown Whittier and The Quad shopping center are both close to campus and offer services that benefit college students and take stress out of your life.

Here is a list of my favorite/most used/recommended college student discount-friendly services that have made my life better.

•    Spotify/Hulu: Enjoy unlimited ad-free music and a Hulu subscription for just $5 a month.

•    Adobe Creative Cloud: Enjoy every application for only $20/month.

•    Nike: 10% off your purchase by just submitting your email.

•    American Eagle: Save 20% off after signing up on UNiDAYS.

•    Subway: 10% on your purchase.

Also, during the summer Apple offers back-to-school deals that allows families to have cheaper access to Apple products. On top of these discounts, the purchase comes with a pair of Beats headphones. In the past, this deal has allowed me to purchase new technology that has helped me at school.

For me, these discounts have come in handy so many times. As a full-time student whose life revolves around technology, I bought a laptop from Apple at a great price. Instead of carrying three to five notebooks, I now only carry my laptop and a flash drive. Aside from that, as a Graphic Design major, the Adobe Creative Cloud discount has made such a huge impact in both my creativity and in my wallet. There is about a $40 difference.

These discounts can make such a great difference in a wallet so take advantage of them. Hopefully, these opportunities make your college experience easier. Wish you well.
