For transfer students, finding your place on campus is key to feeling at home. From student clubs to essential support services, Whittier College offers a variety of resources to help transfers connect, thrive, and make the most of their experience. Here are a few ways to make Whittier feel like home:

  • Attend our Transfer Open House: This is a perfect opportunity to explore campus, meet current transfer students, and get a firsthand look at resources available to help you succeed. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, connect with fellow students, and start building your Whittier community even before your first day.

  • Join the Transfer Student Association: Connect with peers who understand the transfer experience firsthand. Share tips, swap stories, and build a community designed specifically to help transfer students feel at home.

  • Explore More Student Organizations & Societies: Whether you’re interested in academic societies, cultural groups, or student-led initiatives, these communities are a great way for transfer students to quickly form friendships, develop leadership skills, and plug into campus life.

  • Visit the Career Center: Transfer students often face unique challenges in mapping out internships, networking, and career goals. The Career Center can provide personalized guidance to help you catch up, plan ahead, and make the most of your time at Whittier.

  • Check out the Poet Pantry: Adjusting to a new campus can come with unexpected challenges. The pantry ensures that students have access to food, toiletries, and other essentials so you can focus on your studies and wellbeing.

  • Engage in Campus Events: From Week of Welcome to student-led activities, attending events is one of the fastest ways for transfers to meet fellow students, learn about campus culture, and feel connected right away.

  • Meet with Transfer Admission Advisors: Our transfer admission advisors are ready to answer your questions, provide guidance on credits and applications, and help you plan your transition.

Transferring to a new campus comes with its challenges, but Whittier College offers plenty of ways to make the transition smoother. By taking advantage of clubs, societies, events, and support services, transfer students can quickly build connections, find community, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
