Food and drinks with closed lids (i.e. water bottles, travel mugs) are permitted in Wardman Library.
Wardman Library provides a variety of spaces for study and collaboration. All users should be considerate of others. Headphones should be used on all floors when listening or viewing media.
Located on the Mezzanine and Top Floor, Wardman Library’s study rooms are great locations to brainstorm, share ideas, and work in groups. All study rooms have whiteboards and some are equipped with HD displays. Dry erase markers and erasers are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.
Eight group study rooms are available for reservations and three are available as first come, first serve. To use any of these rooms, students must check out the room card at the Circulation Desk. Students who check out a study room will be able to use the room for up to four hours. The check out card must be returned to the Circulation Desk by the time due. Fines are assessed at $1.00 each hour when the checkout card is not returned on time. Study rooms may not be renewed. While students may temporarily use a room without checking it out, they will be asked to leave if another party checks out the room. Therefore, the Library encourages any group to reserve a room beforehand or check out a study room if they wish to use one.
Violation of these or other applicable Library or college policies may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access to Library study rooms.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), patrons with service dogs are welcomed into Wardman Library. Whittier College faculty, students and staff are permitted to bring a non-service dog into the Library, provided guidelines are followed. Service dog and non-service dog owners must adhere to the Dog Policy Acknowledgment guidelines below during their visit to Wardman Library.
Wardman Library seeks to provide a safe and productive environment for all its users and staff. Please observe the following dog guidelines:
A patron with a dog may be relocated within the library due to other users’ allergies or a fear/anxiety towards dogs.
If a dog’s behavior does not conform to these guidelines, or poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others it may not remain in the Library. If the service dog is excluded from the Library, the individual with the disability is welcomed to stay and will be reasonably accommodated by library staff.
