Residential learning communities are an integral part of the Poet experience at Whittier College.
These communities are designed to help first-year students successfully transition to college by creating a common academic experience where they learn and live in close proximity.
Throughout the year, Community Advisors in these communities will organize special events and programs aimed at supporting community building, collaboration, and emotional wellbeing.
Peer mentors provide academic advice and help connect students with important resources on campus. Students are also assigned faculty mentors who guide and counsel students during the first semester.
