Baseball Exhibit Taps Into World Series Excitement

Whittier College’s Wardman Library is hosting a timely, Los Angeles Dodgers-focused exhibit from the Baseball Reliquary.

The Institute for Baseball Studies opened its latest curation of artifacts on Oct. 8 in honor of the playoffs, and Whittier Daily News highlighted the showcase prior to the New York Yankees playing against the Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday.

“The Dodgers and the Yankees have been in the World Series more than any other team, and the matchup is especially significant now in the playoff era because it’s a rarity that the teams with the best records meet each other in the series,” Professor Emeritus Joe Price, ​​co-director of the Institute for Baseball Studies, said. “This is only the third time in the last two decades that the teams with the best records in the regular season are in the World Series.”
