The Whittier College community’s generosity was strong for the ninth annual Big Poet Give on March 27. The event raised $237,657 from 445 donors.
Compared to last year’s Big Poet Give, that’s a 65.6% increase in funds and a 73.8% increase in the number of donors. Boosting fundraising efforts were donors who stepped forward to provide $108,500 in match challenges.
This day of giving supports Whittier College students through the Whittier Now! initiative. Whittier Now! for the Whittier Fund sustains the personalized liberal arts experience that is the hallmark of a Whittier College education. The Whittier Now! initiative launched in December 2023 with a goal of $20 million over the next five years through 2028.
