The young men of the Whittier College football program are dedicating blood, sweat and tears to creating the new standard for Poet football. With a focus being placed heavily on teamwork and an overall family spirit, this year’s team is hopeful for a turnaround season. The Whittier College Football Team holds one win and one loss thus far.
Follow the transformation of Poet Football by tuning in to The Season, a new web-series tracking the team’s ongoing journey. The web-series, produced by the Whittier College Sports Network, offers an inside look on the life of a Poet from training and conditioning to practice and game days.
The Poet's first SCIAC contest (vs. Cal Lutheran University) will take place Saturday, October 4 at 1:00 p.m. in Memorial Stadium.
Whittier will hit the road on October 11 to face Occidental College in the ongoing battle for "The Shoes." This game will mark the 71st standoff between the Poets and Tigers for the sought-after trophy that is currently in the possession of the Purple and Gold.
Whittier will then take on La Verne on October 18 for its Homecoming game.
