WHAT: Adam Rudolph's Moving Pictures in concert

WHEN: 7 p.m., Sunday, November 2, 1997

WHERE: The Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts at Whittier College

COST: $15 (Discount available for students and senior citizens.)

ADD: Called "a pioneer in world music" by the New York Times, Rudolph has been in the vanguard of the development of cross-cultural improvisational music for more than 20 years. His latest ensemble, Moving Pictures, featuring master Butoh dancer Oguri, and using jazz, blues, Middle Eastern, African and Asian motifs over grooving rhythms, has appeared in several major European music festivals. A composer and percussionist, Rudolph himself performs on such varied instruments as congas, tabla, didjeridoo and electronics.
