"La Ronde" by Arthur Schnitzler, presented by the Whittier College Department of Theater Arts.

WHAT: "La Ronde" by Arthur Schnitzler, presented by the Whittier College Department of Theater Arts.

WHEN: Wednesday through Saturday, March 15-18, 8 p.m.; Sunday, March 19, 2 p.m.

WHERE: The Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts at Whittier College
13406 Philadelphia St., Whittier

COST: $8 (discounts available for students and senior citizens)

ADD: Set in turn-of-the-century Vienna, "La Ronde" explores the decadence and anxiety of love and relationships--or lack thereof--at the turn of the century. Althought it was originally published in 1896, "La Ronde" fits nicely into the beginning of a new century, as we still face many of the same problems today.

The circular story, directed by Crystal Brian, associate professor of theater arts, is a critique of social behavior that promises to be an entertaining dark comedy.
