WHITTIER VICE PRESIDENT RESIGNS TO TAKE POSITION AT CAL STATE
"In her three-year tenure at Whittier, Jo Ann has successfully managed several major projects, most importantly moving Whittier Law School from Los Angeles to Costa Mesa, the renovation of Victor F. Deihl Hall and the opening of the George Allen Fitness Center last year," said President James L. Ash, Jr. "Jo Ann has had a significant impact on our capital campaign, Endowing the Tradition. She has done a tremendous job at Whittier, and we wish her every success at Cal State San Bernardino."
Hankin came to Whittier from UCLA, where she was vice president of finance for the UCLA Foundation and associate vice chancellor for finance and information management for university relations. She has an extensive background in investment, technology and financial management for nonprofit organizations. She is one of four co-authors of "Financial Management for Non-Profits," (John Wiley & Sons, 1998).
She has served as a board member for a number or organizations, including the UCLA Foundation, the Los Angeles chapter of the Financial Executives Institute, the Cash Management Society of Los Angeles and Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center Foundation.
She has also served as a consultant to a number of colleges and foundations. Hankin received her B.S. in business administration from UCLA.
Located 18 miles east of Los Angeles, Whittier College is an independent, four-year college offering traditional liberal arts majors and strong pre-professional programs taught in the context of the liberal arts. Whittier Law School, which is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools, is located on a separate campus in Costa Mesa.
