ADD: Called "The best guitarist of his generation," by Classical Guitar, Paul Galbraith brings his unique style of play to the Ruth B. Shannon Center as part of the 63rd annual Bach Festival.
He first won public acclaim at the age of 17 when he won the silver medal at the Segovia International Guitar Competition. The following year he went on to win BBC TV's Young Musician of the Year Award. He has performed with some of the finest orchestras in Britain and Europe and his concert tours have taken him to the U.S., Canada, Spain, China, India and Iceland.
Galbraith's unique style of guitar playing includes a remodeled guitar that, like a cello, has a metal supporting endpin and rests on a wooden resonance box. His guitar also has eight strings, which increase the instrumentŐs range and possibilities to an extent never before possible.
