ADD: A tragic, yet comic examination of the pain family members can inflict upon one another in the name of love, Horton Foote's play, "The Day Emily Married" is a unique and multi-faceted drama which takes a long, hard look at families, marriage and the interplay they have on each other. Emily's parents, with the best of intentions, have controlled her life and even arranged two failed marriages for her. At thirty, Emily decides it's time to live her own life and sets out--against her parent's wishes--to become a more autonomous person. With Foote's creative mix of tragedy and humor, "The Day Emily Married" is sure to be a memorable and thought-provoking reading. Among others, the cast will include Perri Gilpin (who plays Ros on the popular television sitcom "Frazier").
