“Crimes of the Heart” Staged at Whittier College 

WHAT:                        “Crimes of the Heart,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Beth
Henley
 

WHEN:                        8 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, Oct. 16–19 2 p.m., Sunday,
                             Oct. 20
        

WHERE:                      Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts at Whittier College
                             13406 Philadelphia Street, Whittier
 

COST:                         $10 for the general public; $8 for students and senior citizens with
                             I.D.
 

ADD:                           Set in small-town Mississippi, “Crimes of the Heart” tells the story
of the three quirky McGrath sisters, who come together for a
reunion when Babe decides to shoot her husband.  The sisters
reminisce about family life, carp at one another and attempt to
understand their mother’s suicide.  The play won the Pulitzer in
1981 and was later made into a movie with Sissy Spacek, Jessica
Lange and Diane Keaton.
